AWAD IBRAHIM

In this Interesectional Interview, we are joined by Awad Ibrahim, author and professor at the University of Ottawa who specializes in the social foundations of education, ethnography, applied linguistics, youth and black popular culture and the study of diasporic and continental African identities.

He joins us to speak on a book he co-wrote entitled The Education of African Canadian Children, which offer critical perspectives on the diasporic and continental African identities within Canada.

KIGA

In this Interesectional Interview, we are joined by Landry Kigabiro, commonly known as Kiga, a Toronto-based DJ hailing from the continent, and founding member of Kuruza, a collective of Afro-diasporic artists based in city.

He joins us to speak to discuss his artistic process, future projects and his take on the development of the Pan-African spirit through music, authenticity and intersectionality.

NATHALIE MUNYAMPENDA

In our final Intersectional Interview of the season, we are joined by Nathalie Munyampenda, former managing director of the Next Einstein Forum, an initiative of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, who gives us an insight into the experiences and encounters that helped mold her personal and professional path from Rwanda, to South Africa, to Canada, to the U.S., and back to Rwanda.
